1Dose ranges by source
| Range | Per | Basis | Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| 30 mcg/kg | day, at bedtime | FDA label FDA label | historical Geref pediatric dose for growth hormone deficiency; 1 mcg/kg IV for the diagnostic test |
| 200 mcg to 300 mcg | day, at bedtime | Commonly reported commonly reported | adult off-label and research-vial use; also the range on the RxList label summary |

Step up on this schedule. Stay a step longer if side effects are rough.
| Weeks | Dose |
|---|---|
| 1-2 | 100 to 200 mcg at bedtime |
| 3 onward | 200 to 300 mcg at bedtime |
3Dose to units chart
2 mg vial + 1 mL bacteriostatic water = 2 mg/mL, so each unit on a U-100 insulin syringe holds 20 mcg.
| Dose | Draw (mL) | Units | Doses in vial |
|---|---|---|---|
| 25 mcg | 0.013 | 1.3 | 80 |
| 30 mcg | 0.015 | 1.5 | 66 |
2 mg + 1 mL = 2 mg/mL, so 200 mcg = 0.1 mL = 10 units; 300 mcg = 15 units. A 5 mg vial with 2.5 mL gives the same 2 mg/mL.

Storage: lyophilized: fridge; reconstituted: fridge, commonly used within 4 weeks (commonly reported); the Geref label said refrigerate and use reconstituted vials promptly
6Sermorelin dosage questions
How much sermorelin should I take?
Adults commonly inject 200 to 300 mcg at bedtime, 5 nights a week. The old FDA label was 30 mcg/kg nightly for children, which would be about 2 mg for a 70 kg adult, but nobody uses that in practice. On a 2 mg vial in 1 mL, 200 mcg is 10 units.
How many units of sermorelin is 200 mcg?
With 2 mg reconstituted in 1 mL you have 2000 mcg per mL, so 200 mcg is 0.1 mL, which is 10 units on a U-100 syringe. 300 mcg is 15 units. With 5 mg in 2.5 mL the numbers are the same.
Is sermorelin FDA approved?
It was, as Geref, for childhood growth hormone deficiency and as a diagnostic test. The brand was withdrawn in 2008 for manufacturing reasons, so there is no approved product today. Sermorelin you get now is compounded or sold as research material.
Sermorelin vs CJC-1295?
They are nearly the same molecule: CJC-1295 no DAC is sermorelin with four amino acid swaps that extend its half-life from minutes to about half an hour. Doses overlap at 100 to 300 mcg. Sermorelin has the regulatory history; CJC-1295 is cheaper per effective dose, by user report.
